Democrats have so fiercely clung to the belief that election interference influenced our 2016 presidential outcome that now Democratic Representative Barbara Lee is making a “personal” plea that the United States recruit foreign election monitors. Lee claims these “monitors” would prevent Republicans from engaging in their fabled “voter suppression” tactics.

Speaking at “She The People 2019,” Lee posited that the only way to prevent voter suppression and foreign influence in our 2020 Presidential election would be to bring in foreign influence from the United Nations.

“I personally want to ask the U.N. to come in, I’ve observed elections all over the world, and I think right now we need election observers from all over the world coming to monitor and look at these tactics … so that maybe if we put some sunshine on it, you know, at least we’ll be able to cast our vote until we get all of these laws changed,” she said to applause.

In October 2012, BizPac Review reported that poll watchers from “the UN-affiliated Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will send 44 poll watchers at various locations around the country to monitor our elections on November 6.”  This move was due in part to concerns that conservative-leaning groups were attempting to disenfranchise likely Obama voters, but drew heavy criticism from election fraud groups, specifically True the Vote whose president and founder Catherine Engelbrecht insisted that the “United Nations has no jurisdiction over American elections.”

But Lee is no stranger to praising the UN. In a Twitter post from October 24th, she stated that the United States “must recommit to the [United Nations]” citing her role as the “Democratic Congressional Representative to the United Nations.”

Twitter users were quick to note that bringing in foreign entities to discourage foreign election influence seemed like a self-defeating argument.

One user suspected that the entire goal of this move was yet another step toward the “One World Order.”

It could be argued that this isn’t a “small step” at all, but rather, one gigantic leap supported by our own elected officials.
